Kim has a career that has spanned executive and project leadership across utilities, transportation, and technology. As WSU’s Director of Urban Innovation, Kim helps to create interdisciplinary research teams by facilitating the match of community-based applied research needs to funding opportunities and public and private sector partners. Kim is also co-founder and CEO of Urbanova, the multi-partner responsive-city living laboratory in Spokane’s University District. Urbanova finds new ways to make communities better for people by focusing on scalable and replicable solutions which improve social, environmental and economic equity and resilience. Kim works with the Metro Center on projects related to sustainability and tech-based economic development.
